About TD

TD Simon is a retired educator, historian, former Department of Corrections employee, student advocate, and founder of TexasRaven Studios.

TD spent 32 years in education, teaching at the middle school, high school, and college levels. His primary subjects included United States History, Civics, Government, Political Science, and Special Education. He also spent approximately 25 years in departmental leadership involving History and Special Education.

His academic background includes degrees and study in Political Science, United States History, Secondary Education, Psychology, English Literature, Counseling, Reading Instruction, Special Education, and Gifted and Talented Education.

From 1992 to 2010, TD served on the Utah State History Curriculum Board, helping develop United States History curriculum for the state. His career also included work on anti-gang task forces, school safety committees, hiring committees, employee fraud investigations, and roughly 20 years serving as a liaison between schools and local law enforcement.

Of everything he accomplished in education, TD is especially proud of his work as a student advocate. Over the course of his career, he represented and advocated for more than 500 students in school hearings, district proceedings, juvenile court matters, and family court proceedings.

His philosophy combined accountability with second chances. He believed young people should take responsibility for their choices while also understanding that one bad decision does not have to determine the rest of their lives.

Following his career in education, TD worked for the State of Utah at the Central Utah Correctional Facility as a Department of Corrections employee, serving as a Control Point Operator before retiring in 2024.

Those decades working with students, educators, families, law enforcement, courts, school security, anti-gang programs, and the correctional system shaped TD’s perspective on government, public safety, personal responsibility, and American society.

Today, he brings that experience to a much larger classroom.

TexasRaven Studios

TD is the founder of TexasRaven Studios, an independent creative project focused on American history, patriotic storytelling, political commentary, original music, visual media, and educational content.

Through TexasRaven Studios and the TexasRaven name, TD creates historical articles, political commentary, patriotic graphics, news panels, videos, multimedia presentations, and original music.

His work focuses heavily on American history, constitutional government, law enforcement, immigration and border security, individual liberty, government accountability, the Second Amendment, faith, family, and the political and cultural issues shaping the country future generations will inherit.

The mission is simple: teach, inform, preserve history, and tell stories that matter.

Creator Focus

History. Context. America First.

TD spent most of his adult life teaching that history matters because context matters.

He believes Americans cannot fully understand where the country is going without understanding where it came from, why the Constitution was written, what previous generations endured, and what can happen when citizens stop paying attention to their government.

His perspective is unapologetically America First. TD believes in secure borders, constitutional rights, freedom of speech, the Second Amendment, law and order, limited government, personal responsibility, strong families, religious liberty, and a government that remembers it works for the people.

He also believes the people behind the headlines matter. Some of his favorite stories involve ordinary Americans doing extraordinary things, including police officers, firefighters, veterans, military members, and citizens stepping forward when others need help.

Politics gets attention. Character still matters.

Beyond Politics

TD is a husband, father, grandfather, and devout Christian whose faith influences his views on responsibility, forgiveness, redemption, service, and family.

Away from politics and history, he enjoys the outdoors, gardening, horticulture, gunsmithing, antique firearms, reloading, spending time with his family, taking care of his three cats, and playing Fallout 4 with his granddaughter.

After 32 years teaching history, TD now has the opportunity to continue doing what he loves in a different classroom.

Only this classroom is a whole lot bigger.
